What should we achieve in the opening sequence?

In the first 10 minutes of the film that we are producing, it should be able to achieve:

• Titles and credits
• Introduction of characters, time and location
• Recognition of theme and signify the genre
• engage and captivate the audience
• Director/actors should satisfy the expectation of audience of the generic conventions
• Iconography throughout the film
• Establishment of a sound track setting the mood along with a unique sound created for that film and that is recognisable as that film (theme music)
